Pentane in the environmental context refers to a hydrocarbon compound with the chemical formula C₅H₁₂. It is an alkane composed of five Carbon atoms and is commonly used as a solvent, blowing agent in foam production, and in energy applications. Pentane plays a role in industrial processes but also has implications for air quality, Greenhouse gas emissions, and sustainable practices.
