A Trachea is commonly known as the windpipe, a cartilaginous air tube extending from the larynx (voice box) into the thorax (chest) where it divides into left and right branches.

The term "Trachea" is not directly related to the environment. The trachea is a part of the respiratory system in animals, including humans, that connects the larynx to the bronchi, allowing air to pass to and from the lungs. It is a tube-like structure composed of cartilage rings and lined with mucous membranes. While the respiratory system is certainly affected by the environment (e.g., air pollution can cause respiratory problems), the term "trachea" is not specific to environmental issues.
