A Nitrogen Oxides (NOx): is NOx is the collective term for nitrogen compounds such as NO and NO₂. These two nitrogen oxides are an environmental and public health concern because human activity has increased their concentration in the atmosphere. NO and NO₂ are interconvertible and are precursor molecules for the production of ground-level ozone.
